Natural Velocity x Rocket Academy Easter Holiday Program | Ages 6-8
Build robots. Launch rockets. Make a Triceratops walk. The Natural Velocity x Rocket Academy Easter Holiday Program brings STEAM to life for ages 6–8 at Docklands.
Description
Your child's first step into the world of robotics and engineering!
This is a hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) program, where kids aged 6-8 build motorised creations using LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential. From roaring Triceratops to launching rockets, every session is packed with building, problem-solving, and "wow, I made that!" moments. No experience required — just curiosity and a love of building things.
Who Can Enrol
Junior primary students (ages 6-8) new to coding and robotics.
No experience required! Our instructors guide every step, so kids of all experience levels can jump right in and start coding and building.
Hands-on play meets guided storytelling in this fun-filled intro to building, thinking, and problem-solving.
Course Topics
✅ Intro to Code Logic: Learn the basics of code sequencing and logic through playful, guided tasks and simple movement control.
✅ Build with LEGO® Spike Essential: Construct nature-themed creatures and simple machines.
✅ Code Simple Reactions: Use beginner-friendly drag-and-drop coding to control movement, react to colours, and complete sorting challenges.
✅ Creative Habitat Missions: Design and build natural habitats and obstacles, applying simple engineering principles while fostering storytelling.
✅ Team Challenge: Work together to complete a fun, interactive challenge using their coded creations.
What to Bring
No need to bring LEGO kits or iPads — we provide everything! Just pack a nut-free snack, lunch, water bottle, and comfortable clothes so your child is ready to learn, play, and have fun.
Why You Should Enrol

Programming skills: The students will develop essential coding skills by programming robots to solve engaging, real-world challenges.
-
Creative problem-solving: Challenges will enhance their ability to think critically and find innovative solutions.
-
Team collaboration: Students will strengthen teamwork and communication as they work together to build and refine their robotic designs.
-
Engineering design principles: They'll apply engineering principles to construct, test, and evaluate robotics solutions.
Booking Information
This program can be booked as a 1-day or 2-day full program.
Both days have different fun builds:
On Thursday, the kids get to build a cave car, an animal alarm, a triceratops, and a locomotive.
On Friday, they build a rocket launcher, a lunar rover, a harvester, and a satellite.
Those following the 2-day program can deepen their learning and increase the complexity of their builds on the second day.
